Year 4

Welcome to our Year 4 Curriculum page 

Welcome to Year 4! We are all looking forward to a year when we will be working hard, celebrating our achievements and making sure the children build on their existing knowledge.

The Year 4 team are really looking forward to an exciting year and challenges that we will embrace together.  We look forward to our many interesting learning journeys which have been carefully crafted to ensure a year of high-quality learning.

Our History will start with some learning about the Ancient Romans.  They will learn about daily life and the legacies left behind by the Romans. Later in the year the children will link their learning of the Romans to Christianity and how that affected other empires. The year finishes with learning about Cordoba the City of Light!

Our Geography will start in Term 1 looking at the Rhine and Mediterranean. It will then take us on a journey covering population, coasts, tourism, earthquakes and finishing off with deserts. 

In Science, we will be starting a new curriculum in year 4. This year we will cover plants, rocks, light, animals (including humans) and forces & magnets. This new curriculum has been designed by experts and will build on children's prior knowledge with some fantastic investigations along the way!
