Sport and PE at Milton Park Primary School
What is the primary ‘Sport Premium’?
In April 2013 the Government announced that £150 million would be released to fund primary school physical education and sport as part of the ‘Olympic legacy’. It has been designed to help schools in a variety of ways. Through investment of this funding, we hope to develop the provision of PE and raise the profile of sport and PE throughout the whole school.
What is our objective at Milton Park?
To raise standards and participation in P.E across the school and the Extend Learning Academies Network that will enable children to develop a healthy lifestyle and participate in a range of sports to fulfil their potential.
At Milton Park, we offer a range of extra-curricular sports activities for children to participate in, which are run by specialist sports coaches and are open to all children across the school.
75% of our previous cohort (2019-2020) of Year 6 children were able to swim 25m unaided and could perform safe self-rescue on different water based situations.
2020-21 - Due to Covid restrictions, we have been unable to offer swimming lessons to our pupils.
