This is my second year at Milton Park. I have been in education for nearly 30 years, working in a range of year groups from nursery to year 6 across several schools in Weston. I am really excited and looking forward to working in the year 2 team this year, and getting to know your children.
I have a special interest in developing independence, emotional wellbeing and celebrating the uniqueness of each and every child. My aim is always to create those ‘butterflies of excitement for learning’ for all pupils by creating a rich and exciting curriculum.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being in my garden and exploring new arts and craft skills. Outside family, work and hobbies I support a range of local charities. I feel very strongly about giving back to communities who have supported my family and myself. I hope that your child will benefit from the knowledge, experience and skill set that I have gained overtime. I look forward to getting to know you and your child. It’s going to be a great year!
This is my fifth year at Milton Park and I am so excited to get to know and work closely with all of the lovely children and families over the next year. I have 12 years experience working within a range of educational settings including nurseries, Schools and SEN Schools. I am passionate about helping children recognise and reach their full potential, celebrating our differences and building confidence. We are not all the same and if we were life would be very boring! I believe that learning is an adventure and that every child deserves to be excited and find enjoyment in their learning everyday. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, going for long walks in the countryside and swimming in the sea! I can't wait to see what adventures are in store for us - we are going to have a brilliant year!
I have been part of the Milton Park community since 2002 when my eldest child started school at Milton and have held a variety of roles from parent helper, PTA treasurer, Governor and staff member. I trained to be a Teaching Assistant whilst being a parent helper and became a member of staff in 2005 completing further training to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in 2014. During my time at Milton Park, I have worked across both Key Stages and I am very excited to be working with your children in Year 2 alongside our fabulous team. Every child is unique and has their own talents; I aim to nurture this and support every child develop a love of learning to allow them to fulfil their potential. Developing a love of reading is one of my passions and I love to talk to children about the books that they are enjoying and gaining ideas of which books I can read next!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing badminton, walking and reading.
