Reading Aloud
In Year 4, we ask that children read to an adult at home every day and record their endeavours on BoomReader. BoomReader is a digital reading platform that is quick and easy to use for pupils, parents, and staff and reading can be recorded from any device. Children have their own logins which have been sent home.
Children should bring their reading books home each night and they should be brought back to school each morning.
Guided Reading
In Guided Reading, we work in smaller groups where we alternate the activities we do each day. This allows us to work on specific skills such as retrieval, inference, vocab, explanation and summarising.
