Lunches at Milton

School Menu Autumn 2020-21

Children in Need special menu - 13 Nov 2020

Christmas 'Party' menu - Friday 11th December 2020

School lunches cost £2.10 daily. We are a cashless site and so we asks that you pay through the ParentPay website on the link above.  If you are not set up, please contact the office where we can provide you with login details. For parents of pupils coming into our Reception year, you will be provided with an activation letter within the first few weeks. Please note that your child will be eligible for the government paid school meals (different from Free School Meals) but we use ParentPay for several things your children may be involved with, such as trips and other school events.

If your child is in Year 2, please be aware that as they transition into Year 3, you will no longer be covered by the government school meals scheme, and lunches must be paid for.

Packed Lunches at Milton

Where we can, we would encourage parents to pack a healthy lunch box. Studies show that foods that fuel the brain help the children massively with their learning. We ask that there are no sweets, chocolates or fizzy drinks put into the children's lunches. Not only is the sugar content high in these foods, any spillages attract wasps, ants and many other mini-beasts into our school grounds.  For more information or ideas's on what to put into your children's lunch boxes, please see the NHS Change4Life website on the following link

We must however insist that there are no nut products in school. We have both staff and pupils with severe nut allergies, and therefore we are a completely nut-free site.

Free School Meals

Is your child entitled to Pupil Premium Funding and Free School Meals?

Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools for:

  • children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM),
  • children whose parents are currently serving in the Armed Forces,
  • children who have been in care or have been adopted from care,
  • children who leave care under a special guardianship order or residence order.

We ask ALL parents who believe their children would be entitled to free school meals to apply for these, in order that the school can receive this additional funding.

Being eligible for Pupil Premium funding entitles your child to:

  • free school meals, regardless of age,
  • a subsidised place on the Year 6 Kilve residential,
  • help towards the cost of school trips and visits,
  • help towards the cost of school uniform, Breakfast Club and After School Club fees.

Parents or carers who receive any of the following are entitled to free school meals and Pupil Premium funding:

  • Income Support (IM)
  • Employment Support Allowance (Income Related) - not contribution related
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA) - not contribution based
  • A Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit
  • An income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit with an annual taxable income (as assessed by HMRC) of less than £16,190.

If you think you may be entitled, please pick up an application form from the school office, from the Town Hall, or by downloading from the link below.
