In 2011/12 the Government launched it's Pupil Premium funding. This money is devolved to schools based on the numbers of pupils in the school who are eligible for Free School Meals. From 2012/13, it has been expanded to include all children who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any time within the last 6 years.
This money is allocated to initiatives to ensure that pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.
